Lisa's Closet

Fashion is an expression of yourself and Lisa’s Closet is an expression of who I am. Based in Byron Bay, Australia, I am blessed to live amongst real life inspiration that is of the ocean and of the earth.

My philosophy; Celebrate the Divine. Spirituality is within me. In 2010 I visited Bali and created an angel wing kimono. Around this time it was made known to me, and I felt the spiritual guidance of Arch Angel Gabrielle. I believe in angels because I choose to. In 2013 we celebrate what has now become a signature piece – our ‘Arch Angel Gabrielle’ Kimono.

My Style; I am a lover of all things bohemian. I collect treasures from bygone eras. I am intrigued by the beauty that lives within other cultures. I am retro 60’s, slam’n 70’s and RAD 80’s. I am gypsy. I am future chic. I am whatever I want to be.

My resolve; to create exquisite hand crafted pieces that exist only behind a story of ethics.

My Way; Influenced by ancient cultures, my clothing is becoming recognized for its bohemian flair, with touches of both elegance and playfulness. However, the real beauty exists within the production of the clothing. The kimono’s and silks are produced by hand using ancient batik hand painting methods. The traditional process of the clothing is a ‘labor of love’ and a beautiful hand crafted journey that transcends to the wearer. Designed to make her feel unique, luxurious, sexy and effortless.

SEEK. FIND. LOVE. SHARE.

I hope you enjoy looking in my closet.

Story of Ethics

Human Rights

It is an absolute to me that in the making of our beautiful handcrafted garments comes with it a story of ethics that address both the environment and human rights issues.

Lisa's Closet clothing and products are produced in Bali Indonesia in small family run businesses. Workers start their day around 7.30pm and finish by 4pm. They receive 2 x 15 minute breaks and 1 x hour for lunch. They have good lighting and ventilation in their working conditions. I am confident that the workers that sew, draw, paint and package for Lisa's Closet receive a safe, clean & enjoyable working environment and are provided with a fair wage.

Sustainable Future At Lisa's Closet, we acknowledge our responsibility toward a more sustainable future.

Where appropriate, our printing is accomplished by using 100% vegetable based inks on fully recycled, carbon offset paper and all of our stationary is made from 100% recycled materials.

We encourage online viewing and ordering from our retail stores, effectively reducing the amount of printed promotional material and encourage the people we work with to be a part of the positive changes being made toward a greener result.

It is the intention of Lisa's Closet to identify processes within our sewing houses that are detrimental to our environment, and assist them to implement more sustainable processes to eliminate or reduce waste and pollutions.

In 2012 we plan to become involved with our local council's environment sustainability programme for businesses in order to look at a reduction in energy consumption, waste and water usage.

At Lisa's Closet, we continue to focus on any new ways that we can reduce our impact on the environment, and always encourage those around us to do the same.
